    Obituary
Frida M. Borri Bodde, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was born to the late Vittorio and Emma (Fantappié) Borri on October 21, 1930 in Florence, Italy.

At the age of 16, Frida met the love of her life, Charles Bodde, in January while he was stationed in Italy with the Occupational Troops. By March, Frida and Charles were engaged to be married and on October 26, 1947 they were united in marriage at Santa’ Mario Novello. By November, Frida and Charles began their journey to the United States to start their family. During her journey to the US, Frida shared a cabin with four other women while Charles was required to spend his nights in steerage with the other service men. She spent her days enjoying time on the deck of the ship with Charles. After many days, their ship arrived in New York. They shortly relocated to Georgia for a short time before settling in Kaukauna. Frida and Charles spent many loving years together until Charles’s passing in 2007. During their 60 years of marriage, Charles would often tell Frida, “If I could, I would marry you all over again.”

Frida is survived by her children: Carla (Dennis) Landrath of Wausau, Sharon (Kenneth) Hammen of Little Chute, Connie (Glen) Geurts of Kaukauna; her grandchildren: Jennifer (D’Andre Gibson) Schroeder of Dallas, TX, Daniel (Jocelyn) Schroeder of Marina, WI, Matthew Geurts of Kaukauna, Andrew (Katie) Geurts of Kaukauna, Emily (Matt) Sokolowski of Summit, WI, and Molly (Colton Silva) Bodde of Hillsboro, WI; and great grandchildren: Landyn and Bryn Schroeder, Elijah and Emma Gibson, Charlee, Brynlee, Bodde, Josie, Hannah, Colin, and Zoey Geurts.

In addition to her parents, Frida was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles; her son, Paul; her son-in-law, Larry Schroeder; her sister, Mirella (Sabatino) Facchini; brothers and sisters in law: Robert (Rita) Bodde, Virgil (Betty) Bodde, Jack (Ruth) Bodde, Mary (Ken) Wallace and Rita (Bill) Van Lynn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Frida will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at church and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Jude, Shriners, or Feeding America in Frida’s memory.
