      William G. Van Sambeek, of Kimberly, WI, died peacefully at home Monday morning, Oct. 4, 2004. He was born May 5, 1924, to the late Peter and Marie Van Sambeek. Bill and his wife Ione (Ebben) enjoyed a happy and fruitful marriage of 55 years. Bill served his country in the United State Air Force during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post #60.

      Bill was a member of Holy Name of Jesus parish and loved to sing with the Good News Choir. He dedicated 43 years of his life to the Kimberly mill as an Instrumentation Technician. After Bill's retirement in 1989, he enjoyed woodworking and spending time in the outdoors with his family at his cottage in Townsend, WI.

      Survivors include his wife Ione a daughter, Paula (Carl) Schroth, Darboy four sons: Dennis (Nancy) Van Sambeek, Darboy David (Julie) Van Sambeek, Darboy John (Jean) Van Sambeek, Freedom Chris (Renee) Van Sambeek, Darboy along with fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters include Marie Schmidt, Peter Jr. Van Sambeek, John Van Sambeek , Frances Van Sambeek, Agnes Gray, Thomas Van Sambeek and Patricia Plutz.

      Visitation will be Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at St. John's Church in Little Chute from 4-6 p.m. followed by the Eucharistic Liturgy of Christian Burial with Father Bertrand Ebben, O.P. presiding. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #60, Kimberly. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

      Bill's family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Montgomery Elmer and the Theda Care staff.
