      Norbert J. Vosters and Harried [De Backer] Vosters
      Norbert just celebrated hi 75th birthday and Harriet would have been 75 years old next September. They died in a blizzardous, icy road collision on Friday, March 14, 1997, at 2:30 p.m. Norbert was the son of the late Joseph and Nellie [Van Asten] Vosters. He was born on March 12, 1922. Harriet was the daughter of the late August and Ardena [Geurts] De Backer. She was born on Septembee 17, 1922.
      Norb and Harriet celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on July 9, 1996. They were lifetime members of St. John Parish, exemplary Christians, living their lives fully, individually and as a couple. They were always there to care and to share their time, talent and treasure. They were highly esteemed in their family, extending their family to enclude neighbors, friends from far and wide, numerous foster children they have cared for and a child in Honduras they supported.
      They loved to spend time at their cottage near Shawano. They enjoyed playing cards, belonging to the cousins card club for 47 years and introducing friend, and family to a current favorite, sepuence.
      Norb was employed at Kimberly-Clark Repap for 42 years until his retirement in July of 1981. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, and was a Mission Club Auxiliary, especially in shipping to Bros. Regis. Norb donated blood regulary. He was a 50 year member of the Little Chute American Legion Post 258 and spent many years as a faithful member of the color guard and firing squad. He served in the U.S. Navy for three and a half years during World War II operating a troop landing ship in the Pacific Theatre.
      Harriet was a full time volunteer. She was a 40 year founding member of the St. John Mission Club. She belonged to the Parish Christian Mothers, the Legion Auxiliary and the Little Chute Golden Agers. She was a dedicated member of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary for over 20 years exerting over 14,000 volunteer hours and creating over 200 quilts.
      They are survived by their son, Paul, preceded in death by their daughter Ann, their son in-law, Charles Lund, and their grandchildren; Angie and Charles Lee. Other survivors include six brothers, brothers in-law, Walter Vosters, Little Chute; Louie [Josephine] Vosters, Appleton; Joseph [Margie] Vosters, Combined Locke; Tom [Donna] Vosters, Kimberly; Leo [Margie] Vosters, Little Chute; three sisters, sisters in-law; Margaret [Ken] Kunstman, Appleton; Dorothy Schmidt, Seymour; Sister Mary Vosters, Racine; and a brother in-law; Frank seidl; and two sisters in-law; Doris and Dolores. Survivors also include nieces, nephews and family. They were also preceded in death by Gernard 'Butch' Vosters, Ceil Vosters, Catherine Seidl, Paul Schmidt and Larry Vosters.
      The Resurrection Liturgy will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Wednesday from St. John Catholic Church with Father Dave Ruby officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the 5 p.m. Liturgy. Miltitary rites will be held after the Liturgy.
      Verkuilen Funeral Home is assisting the family. A memorial fund is being established in lieu of flowers.
