      Appleton
      Age 96, formerly of 115 W. Foster St., died on Saturday, April 4, 1992 at the Franciscan Care Center. Fred was born on August 3, 1895 in Appleton the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Breid) Sturm. He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He had worked for and retired from the former Interlake Division of Consolidated Paper Company, Appleton. Fred greatly enjoyed the outdoors, that of hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and friends on Lake Winnebago especially during the Sturgeon speering season which was a lifelong enjoyment of his. He is survived by a daughter, Marcella (Sally) plutz, Hilbert, Wissconsin; two sons: Clarence and Helen Sturm, Leo Sturm, both of Appleton; two sisters: Mrs. Rose Calnin and Mrs. Amanda Muenster, both of Appleton. He is further survived by 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah in 1978; a son, Oscar on April 3, 1992; two brothers: George and Hugo; two sisters: Clara and Annie; a son-in-law: Louis Plutz; a daughter-in-law: Betty Sturm. Mass of the Resurrection for Fred will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 1992 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St. with Father William Kuhr officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the church only on Tuesday from 9 a..m. until the time of mass. A memorial fund is being establihed. The Wichmann Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
      Correction: Inadvertenly omitted were a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Sturm; very special friend, Bernice Helein. A deceased great-grandson, Jonathon Nettekoven.
