Maggie was born on February 6, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Buresch) Fleischmann. After Maggie graduated from Kaukauna High School, she worked in the purchasing department at Thilmany Papers.

On May 12, 1943 she married the love of her life, Earl J. Jansen, before he left for three years to serve oversees in the U.S. Army. Together they had five children, Gary Jansen, Niki (Jeff Jirikowic) Koller, Kim (Cyndi) Jansen, Mark (Laurie) Jansen, and Amy (Joseph) Van Handel. Maggie has 10 grandchildren: Marlee, Jesse, Mandy, Abby, Molly, Luke, Tyler, Madalyn, Cannon, and Grace, as well as 18 great-grandchildren.

Maggie was an avid card player, and a self-taught master at bridge. She also loved dancing, music, bowling, and played golf well into her 80’s. Her strong will and sense of independence allowed her to stay active until shortly before her passing.

Maggie was a devout woman of faith and a long-time active parish member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Combined Locks. Her daily actions taught her children and grandchildren the importance of faith, which Maggie relied on throughout her life, always signing her cards with “love and prayers”. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, and her son Gary; siblings Mary (Ted) Verkuilen, Joseph (Barbara) Fleischmann, Elaine (Les) Dietzen, George Fleischmann; also preceded by Earl’s parents John and Anna Jansen, and brothers-and-sisters-in-laws Mildred (Don) Farrel, Tom Jansen, Joyce (Elmer) Van Gompel, Joe (Toots) Jansen, Roger (Darlene) Jansen, Bill Jansen, Ken Geiger, Mildred Jansen, and Grace Jansen.

Maggie is survived by her children Niki, Kim, Mark, and Amy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Elaine Jansen, Doris Jansen, and Betty Geiger, and many nieces and nephews, including a niece very dear to her, Sherrie (Jim) Lorenz.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks. Visitation will be held at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Fr. Ron Belitz will be officiating the Mass starting at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed online through the parish website at www.stpaulcl.com. For online condolences, please visit www.verkuilenfh.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

Interment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park; Maggie will be laid to rest next to her husband Earl and her son Gary.

Maggie’s children would like to extend a special thank you to Fr. Ron Belitz, Theda-Care Hospice, and to their mother’s kind neighbors for all the years they have been so helpful to her.

Dear Mom, this Christmas we know you are celebrating our Lord’s birth with Him in His Kingdom. May you rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus and be in the company of Our Blessed Mother and all the angels and saints. We will miss you but look forward to the day when we will see you again.
    Love and prayers,
    Niki, Kim, Mark, Amy
