      Tennessen, James W. James W. Tennessen, Menasha, age 80, passed away following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday evening July 16, 2006, at his home with his family by his side. Jim was born December 12, 1925, in Kaukauna, the son of the late Antone and Martha (Balck) Tennessen. Jim married Gladys Kobussen on October 25, 1947, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a self-employed businessman.

      Jim was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Menasha. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he was an avid card player. He was a past president of the Menasha School Board, a member of the Nicolet Council Knights of Columbus #1838 and the American Legion Post #0436.

      Jim is survived by his wife, Gladys, his children: Tim Tennessen, Washington; Mark (Sue) Tennessen, Appleton; Mary (Jim) McFarland, Iron River and Suzie (Mike) Reiter, Neenah. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Lea Anne (Scott) Hoelzel, Sarah (Jamin) Bowen, Matthew (Kati) Reiter, Erik Reiter, Jessica (Justin) McClure, Jacob (fiancee' Katie) Tennessen and Andrew Tennessen, five great-grandchildren: Kiela, Jarik, Jaina, Levi, Samara and a baby to come. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Lillian) Tennessen of Little Chute, and several nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his brother, Art Tennessen and his sister-in-law, Eileen Tennessen.

      Memorial services for Jim will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006, 6 p.m. at Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Family and friends will be received on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the hour of service. Following the services a luncheon will be held at Briarwood Cottages in Menasha.

      In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

      Jim's family wishes to give a special thank you to his hospice nurse Rachel Schroeder and close family friend, Neal Isbell.
