Skell, Margaret "Peg" Margaret Skell, age 64, Pickerel, WI, died peacefully at her home, Monday, October 17, 2005, surrounded by her family after a courageous seven-month battle with cancer. Peg was born April 13, 1941, in Kaukauna, WI, to Mary (Kraimer) and William Mischler. Peg attended St. Mary Grade School in Kaukauna and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1958. On August 8, 1959, Peg married Maurey Skell at St. Mary's in Kaukauna. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage. Maurey preceded her in death on September 2, 2004.
Peg was a member of St. Mary's in Pickerel. Peg was a secretary at Kimberly-Clark in Neenah from 1965 until retiring in 1997. She and her husband also started a family craft business in 1972 which she continued to enjoy until her illness. She raised her family in Combined Locks and enjoyed many years of spending time with their family at Pickerel Lake. She and her husband moved to Pickerel in 2003.
Peg enjoyed working in her beautiful gardens, crafting and painting. She treasured spending time at her home on Pickerel Lake, where she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her kitten, Cuddles, who remained by her side until the end. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Florida in winter and Peg carried on their love of travel having spent this past winter in Florida.
Peg is survived by two daughters: Jackie (Bill) Learman, Darboy, WI; and Debbie (Tom) Kerrigan, Neenah, WI; a son, John (Cathy) Skell, Shiocton, WI; a sister, Bernice Betters, Kaukauna, WI; a brother, Donald Mischler (friend, Carol), grandchildren: Craig Learman (special friend, Alicia), Gina Learman (special friend, Jason), Karri (Jeremy) Bedor, Kristin (Nick) Steede, Stephanie Price (special friend, Tommy), Tara Kerrigan (fiance, Roger), Jenny Kerrigan, and Tommy Kerrigan, four great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law: Dan (Connie) Skell, Hartford; and Tom Skell, Kimberly; sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Ken) Grissman, Freedom, WI.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Maurey, brothers: Wilfred Mischler, Norbert Mischler, and Richard Mischler.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 12 Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel. Father Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Pickerel. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel on Saturday, October 22, 2005.
A special thank you to LeRoyer Hospice and Dr. Myers, Donna and Peannie for watering flowers for us, Tom and Cindy for their care, concern and visits, Clara and Chuck Haile for their many treats which we hope continue, Jerry and Flo for helping when help was needed. Thank you to all who helped in Peg's transportation and care, especially Lynn and Terri. Also special thank you to Peg's Florida friends: Don and Barb Webster, Wally and June, and Pat and Don Bodwell. Our most heartfelt appreciation to Bernice for her constant love and care.
We could not have done it without you...Peg loved all of you very much.
