Behnke, Joshua (Leisgang)
Joshua (Leisgang) Behnke, 15, Ashwaubenon, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home following a long illness. He was born Aug. 1, 1989, in Green Bay, the son of Ann and Scot Behnke. Joshua attended Jackson Elementary School and later Beaumont Elementary School. He recently graduated from eighth grade at Parkview Middle School. Joshua will be remembered by those who knew him as a happy-go-lucky kid who always had a smile and an up-beat attitude toward life. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing and riding his scooter. Joshua was also an active member of St. Patrick Parish where he assisted as an usher and an altar server.
Joshua is survived by his parents; Ann and Scot Behnke, Ashwaubenon; a brother, Dan; three sisters, Nerissa, Caylee and Courtney; his grandparents, Dorothy Leisgang, Barb and Gary Behnke; his great-grandmother, Emma Rowell; aunts and uncles, Dave and Terri Leisgang, Sharon and Tom Goessl, Mary Amenson, Norb and Debra Leisgang, Diane and Jerry Gegare, Kathy and Paul Hansen, Jerry and Candy Leisgang, Rick and Laura Leisgang, Barb and Roger LaPlante, Nancy and Jon Ruben, Judy and Scott Gellin, Theresa and Kevin Dugre, Sandy and Mike Lezotte, Bob and Jody Leisgang; many cousins and other relatives and friends.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Leisgang and his great- grandparents.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. today. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today. Friends may also call at St Patrick Catholic Church, 211 North Maple Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Friday at the church with Msgr. Brian Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
Joshuas family extends their appreciation to all who cared for Joshua through the years.
A memorial fund has been established in his memory.
