      Dix, Wallis O. (Sonny) Wallis O. Dix, age 88, formerly of Kaukauna, died at his home in Punta Gorda, Florida, on December 5, 2007. He was born in Potter, Wisconsin, on May 6, 1919, the son of Oscar and Adela (Lopas) Dix. He operated a locker plant in Kaukauna for many years and later retired from Badger Northland. With his wife, Helen (Janz) they retired to a home on Lake Metonga, Crandon, before moving to Punta Gorda. She preceded him in death in 2005. Wallis served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II from 1943-1945. He was an avid golfer who scored two holes in one in his lifetime.

      He is survived by his wife's children: Marvin (Kathy) Van Wychen, Margaret (Michael) Maes, Kenneth (Lynn) Van Wychen, Norman (Micki) Van Wychen, and a daughter-in-law, Connie Van Wychen, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Elroy (Bud) Dix, a sister, Elvira (Tootie) Magaurn, Green Bay; a niece, Sharon Wegner. Cedarburg; and her two children, a nephew, Steven Dix, Green Bay; and his two children, and another nephew, William Magaurn, Green Bay. He is further survived by his wife's brothers and sisters.

      He was also preceded in death by Helen's son, Terry Van Wychen, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Dix, a brother-in-law, William Magaurn, and a nephew, Michael Magaurn.

      The family was assisted by ICS Cremation Society, Inc. in Punta Gorda, Florida. Wally requested a private family service. Our wishes are that any remembrances or contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.
