Decker, Bernice R.
Bernice R. Decker, of Waupaca, formerly of Madison, age 77, died on Monday, August 16, 2004, at the Cherry Meadows Hospice Center in Appleton of renal and congestive heart failure. She was born on August 19, 1926, to William and Adeline Schumacher. Bernice graduated from Kimberly High School in 1946. She married Harold Hopfensperger in 1948. She moved to the Madison area where Bernice worked at American Family Insurance for over 20 years. In 1969 Bernice married Donald Decker. After she retired she moved to Waupaca to be closer to family members. She enjoyed her close friends and family.
She is survived by her sisters: Lorraine (John) Hornke, Ramona Krueger, brother: Delmar (Nancy) Schumacher, children: Gary (Leda) Hopfensperger, Sharon (Dan) Manson and Rick Hopfensperger, grandchildren: Kristine (Allen) Adams, Steve Manson, Mike Manson, Kimberly Hopfensperger, and Chandra Hopfensperger, great-grandchildren: Cassie Adams and Brianna Adams, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dick Krueger.
The Funeral Service will be on Friday, August 20, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home, with Deacon Bill Burke officiating. The visitation will be on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
