    • Martin J. Verhagen, Little Chute, age 81, died at his home on Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was born in Little Chute on October 13, 1935 to the late Martin and Ann (Hermes) Verhagen. Martin married Judith Peters on April 16, 1966 at Greenville Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife in his yard. Martin also enjoyed baseball and football. He worked at the Combined Locks Mill until his retirement in 1997.

      Martin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith; their son Jeff of Milwaukee; sister-in-law Cheryl (Steven) Schmidt; and uncle, Pete Hermes. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      In addition to his parents, Martin was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Orville and Irene Peters; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Lenz, Lorraine (Richard) Wilson and Allan Peters.

      Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at ST. LUKE LUTHERAN CHURCH (705 E. Greenfield Drive Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Szep will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to benefit St. Luke Lutheran Church is being established.
