| Amy Lynn Schoettler (nee Schommer), age 58, of Black Creek – loving wife, mother, sister, and friend passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at her home following a courageous battle with stage 4 kidney cancer. Amy was born August 13, 1964, in Appleton to the late John and Marcella (Helein) Schommer. She graduated from Appleton East High School with the class of 82. On February 14, 1987, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Greg Schoettler. Amy worked at Prevea, Ascension, and Primary Care Associates.
Amy enjoyed spending time with her family - especially her 3 grandkids, Isaiah, Ella, and Owen. She loved camping with the Gorges clan at Lake Chippewa Campground each summer. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with Greg, Robert, and Jacob. She enjoyed reading her Bible and growing her relationship with Jesus. Faith, family, and friends were her greatest love.
Amy is survived by her husband, Greg; 2 sons Robert (Paige) Schoettler and Jacob (Lauren) Schoettler; 3 grandchildren: Isaiah, Ella, and Owen; siblings: Sandy (Larry) Russell, Dan (Mary) Schommer, Bonnie (Frank) Dennee, Jacqueline (Dan) Sturm, Kevin (Sue) Schommer, Karla (Earl) Dennee, and Tom Schommer; father-in-law Carl Schoettler; and sisters-in-law Polly Schommer and Melanie Schommer. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Marcella, brothers Steve and Gary Schommer, mother-in-law Patricia Schoettler, sister-in-law Lisa Schommer, and brothers-in-law Tom and Dean Schoettler.
A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Friday, May 12, at Calvary Apostolic Church, 535 McKinley Ave. Clintonville. Friends may visit on Thursday from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, and on Friday at the church from 9 am to 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
