- Alice M. Meier, age 87, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Brewster Village. She was born on February 19, 1926, to the late Albert and Marie Van Stralen, and she resided in Kimberly. Alice graduated from Kimberly High School in 1945 and worked for Kimberly Clark. On June 3, 1947, she married the love of her life, Roman Meier, and they spent 66 wonderful years together. Alice always had a strong faith and is now with her savior. She was an excellent seamstress and decorator, and she was always very crafty. Alice greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the 27 summers they were able to be in Door County. She was loved by her entire family, and she will be dearly missed. Alice is survived by her husband, Roman Meier; children, Jeff (Monica) Meier, Mike (Diane) Meier, Mary (Gary) De Goey, Darlene (John) Parks, and David (Jill) Meier; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Marie Van Stralen; son, James Meier; sister, Rita Ciha; and parents-in-law, Mathew and Sophie Meier.Funeral liturgy for Alice will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. A time of visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
