- Kaukauna - Diane E. Verkuilen, age 76, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Kaukauna on April 15, 1942 to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Delfosse) Vanden Berg. Diane married George H. Verkuilen on October 27, 1962 at Holy Cross Parish. She worked at Pechman Color Lab until her retirement in 2000. Diane enjoyed playing Bingo with her best friend and sister, Jan. She also enjoyed spending time up north at the trailer, playing the penny machine at Pine Grove Resort, fishing and playing Cribbage at Sheepshead. Diane loved to sit on the deck and listen to nature's sounds all around her. Her greatest treasure was her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her husband of 55 years, George; children: Vicki Verkuilen, Debra Longsine, Edward Verkuilen, Kevin (Wendy) Verkuilen and Beth Stewart; grandchildren: Courtney (Brandon) Ritchie, Haley, Amanda, Heidi, Hannah, Garrett, and Cannon Verkuilen, Brady Longsine, DJ and Tyler Stewart and Jada Coleman; great grandchildren: Kieshon, Analeigha, Ariella, Addison, Isiah, Trevon, Marcus, Keyanna, Nevaeh and Roman; siblings: Jan (Jerry) Van Schyndel, Bruce (Diane) Vanden Berg, Carole (Joe) Seidel, Mark (Sue) Vanden Berg, Lisa (Gary) Grassl and Brian (Louann) Vanden Berg; brothers and sisters-in-law: Anna Marie (Merlin) Hein, John (Carol) Verkuilen, Robert (Gloria) Verkuilen, Delores Schultz, Pat (Harry) Schultz, Joe (Marilyn) Verkuilen, Beverly Bangart and James (Sharon) Verkuilen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by George's parents, John and Anne Verkuilen Sr.; son-in-law, Ken Guise; sisters: Fran (Wally) Verhagen and Vicki (infant); George's infant sister, Debbie; and brothers-in-law: Al Bangart and Bruce Schultz.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Msgr.
