      Age 58, passed away Saturday, August 15, 1998 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with Amyloidosis. MaryAnn was born on May 28, 1940 to John and Minnie [Hietpas] Evers in Little Chute and attended school in Little Chute. On September 13, 1958 she married her neighborhood sweetheart, Ronald Beattie.

      MaryAnn and Ron raised five children, Randy [Sally] Beattie, Theresa [John] Verbeten, all of Little Chute; Dawn [Joe] VanZeeland, Menasha; Brian Beattie, Little Chute and special friend, Lu Ann Arnoldussen, Appleton; and Brad [Jessica] Beattie, Menasha.

      Before retiring in 1993, Mary Ann ran the Elevator at the Zuelke Building in Appleton. Prior to that she worked for Crest International. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, going to Packer Games, rummage sales and playing bingo.

      Survivors include her children and grandchildren,Jessica, Eric, Kara, Tessa, Arianna, Ethan, Evan, Emery and another on the way! Beattie; Jason, Jacob and Jerermy Verbeten; Luke, Mathew and Conner VanZeeland; Brittnie and McKenzie Beattie; eight brothers, Ed [Vi] Evers and Ray Evers, Freedom; Henry [Ade] Evers and Gordon [Rosalie] Evers, Combined Locks; George [Celeste] Evers, Tony [Lorraine] Evers, Appleton; Sebastian [Peggy] Evers, Donald [Elaine] Evers, Little Chute; and two sisters, Delia [Martin] Joosten, Kimberly; Katie [Ray] Brockman, Little Chute; brothers in-law, Royal [Nathalie] Beattie, Louisana; Gerald [Lynn] Beattie, Hilbert and sisters in-law, Jean Johnson, Green Bay; Yvonne Ackley, Texas; Joan Roderick, LaFond, Sherwood; Noreen [Bob] Mrotek and Mary Ellen Sanders, Kaukauna; and many nieces and nephews and her faithful English Setter, Molly.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minne Evers; Vernon Beattie, father in-law, Mary Beatie [Watry], mother in-law; and Del Evers, sister in-law; brothers in-law, Allen Beattie, Douglas Ackley, Daniel Sanders, Carl Johnson; sisters in-law, Karen Beattie and Patricia Massey.

      Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, 1998 at Verkuilen Funeral Home in Little Chute from 4- 8 p.m. also at St. John's Church, Little Chute, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Officiated by Msgr. Jim VandenHogen.
