- Paula Jean Hartzheim, 56, Menasha, went to Heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2011, surrounded by family and her faithful dog, Buddy, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 6, 1954, in Neenah, daughter of the late Paul and Viola (Brantmeier) Hartzheim. Paula was a lifetime resident of Menasha.
Paula enjoyed playing cards and darts, as well as being with family and friends. Her three nephews and three great-nieces and great-nephew were a special part of her life. She was able to take a trip this spring to North Carolina to meet her newest great-niece and see the rest of the family.
Paula is survived by her sister, Margaret, "Peg" (Dennis) Piepkorn; three nephews, Shane (Sally) Piepkorn, Green Bay, and their girls, Molly and Emily; Andy (Christy) Piepkorn, Green Bay, and their children, Gavin, Julia and Cory Piepkorn; aunts and uncles, Leon Hartzheim (godfather), Darboy; Dave (Dolores) Hartzheim, Sun City, Calif.; Grace (Carl) Kessler, Combined Locks; Millie Brantmeier, Menasha; Ed (Elaine) Brantmeier, Menasha; special friends, Sally Montanabo, Menasha; Pat Kersten, Menasha; helpful friends and neighbors, Robin, Chris, Pauline, Bob and Deb.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha. A Prayer Service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, support, meals and friendship. Special thanks to Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, Dr. Goggins, Jennifer and staff, Affinity Hospice Fox Valley, Fayettville, N.C. Hospice, Unity Hospice, Green Bay, and all the caregivers who helped the family.
