- Thomas Gerald Brooker, 66, Mulliken, Mich., passed away unexpectedly of an aneurism on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. He is survived by Dianne, his wife of 42 years, his three children, four grandchildren and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Tom was born in Joliet, Ill. and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School and received a BA from St. Norbert College and an MS from Cardinal Stritch.
A lifelong journalist, he served many roles in newspapers across the country including field reporter, editor and publisher. In his free time, Tom enjoyed poetry, woodworking, the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago Cubs.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Fifth Third Bank, 900 Charlevoix Dr. Grand Ledge, MI, 48837. Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
