Voster, Vernon B. Appleton
Age 77, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at his home. He was born in Kimberly on November 1, 1926 to the late Herman and Agnes (Schuh) Voster. On June 15, 1949 he married Ruth Jamison. Vern was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. Vern worked for the City of Appleton Fire Department for 28 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, spending time up north at his cottage, fishing and restoring tractors.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruth; children: Sherry Wegner, De Pere; Jean Voster, Tomah; Mike (Kathy) Voster, Lynne (Rory) Moore and Lori (Andy) Vance, all of Appleton; sisters: Laoma Anderson, Kenosha; Esther Bartels, Kaukauna; sister-in-law, Janice Voster, Neenah; brother-in-law, Earl Frederick, Appleton; grandchildren: Reggie, Rodney and Ryan Wegner, Scott and Jill Voster, Megan, Steven and Jeffrey Moore, Jess Vance; family friend, Ervin Wegner; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers: Clyde and Herbert Voster and sister, Marie Frederick.
The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St. with Father Mark Vander Steeg and Msgr. John Schuh officiating. The visitation will be Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
