    • Eunice Ertl, Little Chute, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born May 20, 1925, in Little Chute, daughter of William and Anna (Evers) DeBruin. Eunice married Cletus J. Ertl, February 19, 1944, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and he preceded her in death July 23, 2011. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, the Card Club and Mission Club. Eunice was a homemaker all her life raising seven children. She enjoyed making homemade bread and bakery items and doing crossword puzzles. She prayed the Rosary daily and listened to Relevant Radio every morning.

      Eunice is survived by five daughters: Arlene (Dan) Merkel, Elm Grove; Jane (Don) Polinski, Waukesha; Susan (Dave) Laha, Appleton; Rose (Vincent) Lamers, Little Chute and Carol (Trevor) Frank, Menasha; grandchildren: Andy Merkel, Jesse (Kenda) Brunette, Vicki (Shauywn) Smith, Mark (Danielle) Polinski, Brooke (special friend, Hank Pace) and Nick Laha; Vance, Cole and Logan Lamers; Tracee (Mike) Cole and Brian Ertl; great grandchildren: Tylor, Brennan, Leah, Hannah, Natalie and Henry; Cletus' siblings: Wilbur Ertl, Donald (Dorothy) Ertl and Lois (Donald) Thiel; sisters-in-law: Connie and Margaret DeBruin; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including special friend, Elaine VandenBerg.

      She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sons: Anthony and William; her siblings: Della, Dorothy, Betty, Richard, Grace, Donald and Florence and also Cletus's sister, Joan (Donald) Sielaf.

      Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Visitation will be at the church from 3:00 p.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.

      The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hallmark Place for making her last years very fulfilling and to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their wonderful care.
