Nielsen, Alice A. Heaven has just received another angel: Alice A. Nielsen, 82, of Appleton, Wis., passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Manor Care Health Services. Alice was born in Merrill on Jan. 29, 1923, to the late William and Agnes (Schmidtke) Hulke. She married Michael Nielsen on Jan. 6, 1941. Mom's life was spent in loving dedication to her husband and children. She was the epitome of unconditional love. Alice is survived by two sons: John (Susan) from Alliance, Ohio; Jim from Appleton, Wis.; four daughters: Loretta Hacker from Columbus, Ohio; Lorna Nielsen from Columbus, Ohio; Mary (David) Yates from Appleton; Gloria (Scott) Haas-Kormanik from Eden Prairie, Minn.; four brothers Harley (Faye) Hulke, Roger (Betty) Hulke, Dave (Shirley) Hulke; four sisters: Irene Pick, Emma (Augie) Mahn, Elaine (Leroy) Dahm and mom's sister and best friend Laura Murphy; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two daughter-in-laws: Marilyn and Chris Nielsen and son-in-law Steve Rusch. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael; two sons: Harley and Wesley Nielsen; one daughter: Linda Rusch; and a sister: Bernice "Tootie" Zimmerman. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
