      Age 91, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2004. She was born January 7, 1913, to the late George and Minnie (Emmons) Kempen, in Catabwa, Wisconsin and had been a Kimberly resident following her marriage to George Philipsen, May 18, 1937. Ann had been employed as a seamstress for J. C. Penny and for H. C. Pranges. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and gardening. Ann was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Mission Ladies of Holy Name Church, Kimberly Homemakers and the Kimberly Golden Agers. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Philipsen, Ogallala, Nebraska; Clement and Geraldine Philipsen, Sr., Kimberly; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Tony Van Krey, Kimberly; Janet and Richard Meyer, Menasha; 12 grandchildren, Lynn (Thomas) Ehlenfeldt, Jean (Bruce) Hawley, Cindy (Matt) Sosnowski, Dianne (Matt) Young, Ken (Tamara) Van Krey, Fr. Todd Philipsen, Kellie (Roger) Witcofski, Tim (Julie) Philipsen, Keith and Keane Meyer, Kay (Casey) Nygaard, Clement (Brenda) Philipsen, Jr., Kevin Philipsen and Allen Philipsen; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Edmund (Frieda) Kempen, Kimberly; and a sister-in-law, Mary Kempen, Prentice, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband George Philipsen, July 26, 1999; a son, Allen; a great grandson Joshua Young; sisters, Martha (Donald) Vande Hey, Adeline Kempen; brothers, Ben (Theresa) Kempen and Clarence Kempen. The funeral liturgy for Ann will be held at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at HOLY NAME OF JESUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, with Father Todd Philipsen, of Broken Bow, Nebraska, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 pm, Tuesday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
