Schroeder, Jerry L. Jerry Schroeder, 69, Town of Menasha, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, December 16, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, following a brief illness. Jerry was born in Appleton on May 1, 1938, son of the late Raymond Schroeder and Virginia Schroeder Rankin who still lives in Appleton. He attended Menasha High School, and on February 20, 1960, married Dianna Sanderfoot; she preceded Jerry in death on February 12, 1994. On June 29, 2001, Jerry married Judy Meltz Davis — Judy survives and resides in the Town of Menasha. Jerry was an interesting guy, and held many different jobs over the years. They included being the owner of Complete Radiator, driving truck for different firms, and working for Badger Highways. He retired in 2000. Jerry was proud to have served as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Menasha for over thirty-two years. He loved to play golf, NASCAR racing, the sports organizations he was involved with at his winter home in Florida, but most of all, his model truck collection was his pride and joy. Those who knew Jerry will remember him as an outgoing, likeable, and friendly man who made good friends pretty quickly and pretty often.

He is survived by his wife: Judy Davis Schroeder of the Town of Menasha; three children: Rick (Debbie) Schroeder of Darboy and their children Ashley and Brett; Lisa (Dennis) Oudenhoven of Darboy and their son Jordan; and Lynn Schroeder of Menasha. Judy's family includes four children: Pam (Tom) De Leest of Appleton and their children Keely and Krissy; Sue (Dan) Crahen of Appleton; John (Tye) Davis of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and their son Tony; and Traci Davis of Brookston, Minnesota and her children Walker, Jeffrey, and Shelby. He is further survived by his mother: Virginia Rankin of Appleton; his step-mother: Eunice Schroeder of Menasha; and Dianna's mother: Josephine Sanderfoot of Kimberly. Jerry has several brothers and sisters: Bob (Myra) Schroeder of Appleton; Sandy (Ian) Cameron of London, England; Judy (Bob) Christjohn of Appleton; Nancy (Bill) Kangas of Menasha; Cynthia (Dennis) Kroes of Appleton; Bonnie (Tom) Day of Menasha; Andy Schroeder of Menasha and his friend Joy; and Fred Schroeder of Menasha. Judy's brothers and sisters are Ramona Meltz of Appleton; John (Gina) Meltz of Appleton; JoAnn Leddy and her friend Lee of Appleton; and Larry (Lois) Meltz of Scottsdale, Arizona. Jerry is also survived by a sister-in-law Rose Schroeder of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and good friends too many to mention.

He was preceded in death by his father, his wife Dianna in 1994, and brothers Raymond, Dick, and Delroy.

The funeral liturgy for Jerry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street in Appleton and interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where the Town of Menasha Fire Department will post on honor guard. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jerry's name.
