Accepted God's call to eternal life on March 11th. Paul was born on June 29, 1921 son of the late Albert and Nora Ashauer.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice (Hartzheim) of 61 years of marriage three sons: Don and Ann, Dan and Mary Jo and Denis and Libby two brothers: Ed and Ceil, Jerry and Bernice and his sister, Emma (Meyers), 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, two sisters, and two grandchildren. Close friends: Mary Ann, Bev and JoAnn, will miss him.
Paul was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church, Sherwood. He was a lifetime resident of the Town of Harrison where he dairy farmed for 32 years, drove school bus for Kobussen Coaches and served as Town of Harrison Supervisor for 16 years. Paul was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights of Darboy and Sherwood Senior Citizens.
Paul was an avid hunter and sturgeon spearer. He touched many lives in his years and will be fondly remembered as "Head of the Deer Camp" for many years as his treasured "second home" up north.
Funeral services will be March 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Fr. Ken Frozena officiating. Final resting place will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Special thanks to Boettcher Funeral Home and Fr. Ken Frozena.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Care Center and Paul's roommate Julius Hartjes for the special care they provided to Paul and the family. You will always be part of our extended family.
