Lucy A. Steffens 'Lou' N6390 Fairy Srings Rd. Hilbert, age 76, died Tuesday, April 13, 1993 after having been in an automobile accident near Minneapolis, Kansas. She was born April 26, 1916 in Boyd, Wi. daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Hermsen) Van Domelen. She had attended school at St. John's in Little Chute. She was married on September 10, 1938 at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute to Vincent Steffens. Mrs. Steffens was a homemaker. The couple had resided in Kaukauna until Mr. Steffens retirement in 1972 at which time they moved to rural Hilbert. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Heart, Sherwood and a member of Stockbridge Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Also cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband Vincent, four daughters and three sons in-law; Mrs. James (Marlene) Kilsdonk, Darboy; Sharon Huss, Kaukauna; Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Drissen, Kaukauna; Mrs. Gerald (Linda) Waters, Little Chute; three sons and two daughters in-law; Lee Steffens, Hilbert; Gary and Berne Steffens, Little Chute; Marc and LeeAnn Steffens, Wauwatosa; twelve grandchildren; Thomas and Karen Kilsdonk; Paula Bongean; Lisa Van Schyndel; Shelly Huss; Todd and Craig Driessen; Aaron and Amy Steffens; Robbi and Bobbie Jo Waters; Reed Steffens; two great grandchildren; Jeremy and Adam Van Schyndel; also, three sisters and a brother in-law; Rose Schuh, Kimberly; Mae Stingle, Appleton; Mrs. Joe (Molly) Silwanowicz, Menasha; three brothers and sisters in-law; George and Elaine Van Domelen, De Pere; Martin and Bernice Van Domelen, Appleton; John and Matilda Van Domelen, Little Chute.
She was preceded in death by two sister and two brothers; Judy Witthuhn and Margaret Van Domelen; Joseph and Edward Van Domelen.
Services are scheduled for 6 PM on Thursday, April 22, 1993 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Friends may call from 4 PM until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Lucy was a devoted wife and mother. She will be remembered for the way she daily patiently loved and cared for her family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
