West, Ed Ed west, age 91, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2005. He was born on a farm in Freedom, WI on March 29, 1914 to Henry and Minni (Ebben) West. While ranching in Idaho, he married Isabel Nuxoll on October 17, 1939. They returned to Wisconsin in 1945. Ed worked at Riverside Paper and was in the home rental business. He retired in 1976 and they spent the winters in San Diego. He loved playing cards, camping, the Brewers, the Packers and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his children: Lee (Betty) West and Dena West of Appleton; Harold (Anne) West, Clifford (Karen) West and Wilma (Rick) Gates of San Diego and Roger (David) West of Hawaii. He is also survived by 15 loving grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Ann on February 14, 2005, and two infant sons, eight brothers and five sisters. His body has been donated to the University of Wisconsin to be used for prolonging the life of others. Guests will be received at 10:30 with a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 3 at St. Piux X Catholic Church with Fr. John Schuetze officiating. No flowers please.

Isabel and Ed West, 1616 N. Linwood Ave., Appleton, were honored for 60 years of marriage with an October 19th family dinner at their home in Chula Vista, California.
Ed and the former Isabel Nuxoll were united in marriage October 17, 1939, at St. Anthony Parish, Greencreek, Idaho.
They have lived in Appleton since then and currently spend six months each year in California. Ed was employed by Riverside Paper Co. until his retirement in 1966.
The Wests have seven children: Lee (Betty) Appleton; Dena (Gus) Zielke, Appleton; Harold (Anne), Chula Vista, Ca.; Cliff (Karen), Spring Valley, Ca.; Wilma (Rick) Gates, Spring Valley, Ca.; Betty Farmer, Houston; and Roger, Konakaila, Hawaii. There are fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
