Notes - Age 83, died Saturday November 6, 1993 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1910 in the Town of Freedom to the late Edward and Katherine (Stark) Gardner. Milan married the former Clarissa Arnold on Jan. 31, 1976 in Appleton. She survives. He was a retired truck driver for Foreway Express. He retired in 1974 after 30 years of service. Survivors include a son, Richard (Muriel) Gardner of Kimberly; two daughters Germaine (Pat) Anderson of Appleton and Janet (Jim ) Nystrom of Appleton; a step daughter Marge Collar of Appleton; a brother Chester Gardner of Appleton; a sister Violet Schwamer of Birnamwood; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; nine step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Milan was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine who died in 1975;three brothers, Lee, Elmer and Ray and a sister Mathilda Gehring. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, November 9 at the Wichman Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 1 pm until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
