Wilz, Marian M. Marian M. Wilz, Menasha, age 89, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Marian was born January 24, 1918, in Little Chute, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Molitor) Schumacher. She lived on a farm which is now Little Chute High School. Marian married Joseph J. Wilz on May 29, 1940, at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2005. Marian was a basketball player in high school. She loved music, and dancing and she was very social. She enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, birds, the lake and hunting and fishing, whether she wanted to or not. She rooted for the Packers. Marian was a woman of many talents, but her main profession was her loving family. Marian was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha.
Marian is survived by her seven children; Jean (Donald) Stelter, Florida; Judy (Bob) Ciske, Eau Claire; Nancy (Ron) Leskowicz, Appleton; JoAnn (Jim) Siehr, Appleton; Chuck (Jan) Wilz, Neenah; David (Debbie) Wilz, Stevens Point; Susan (Rick) Haegele, Green Bay; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two step-brothers: Toni and William Gloudemans; a step-brother-in-law, Ted Van Handel, two step-sisters-in-law: Jacqueline and Valerie Gloudemans.
Marian was preceded in death by three brothers: Willis (Anne), Ed (Millie) and Robert (Margaret) Schumacher; and two sisters: Elizabeth Schumacher and Marjorie (Bernard) Meulemans.
She was also preceded in death by her step-brothers and step-sisters; Elizabeth Van Handel, Martha (Elmer) Diedrich, Pete (Valerie) Gloudemans, Florence Gloudemans, Verna Gloudemans, Richard Gloudemans, Joe Gloudemans, John (Margaret) Gloudemans.
Funeral services for Marian will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second St. Menasha, with Father Paul Radetski officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Menasha. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday evening, February 28, 2007, at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee St., Menasha, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday morning, from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of the funeral mass. There will be a prayer service held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, from 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
Marian's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the nurses and staff at St. Paul Elder Services for their loving care and compassion given to our mom, Marian.
