- Romenesko, Herbert 1970 Post Bulletin, Rochester, Minnesota dated 11/27/1970; Herbert Romenesko of Weaver succumbs, Herbert Romenesko, 71, Weaver blacksmith, died at his home unexpectedly Thursday of a heart condition. He had not been ill. Mr. Romenesko was born at Potsdam, July 6th, 1889. He married Anna Brutsch at Brownsville December 9th, 1919, and the couple resided in Weaver. He worked on farms in the area and also for the Milwaukee Railroad until 1936 when he took over at the Weaver blacksmith shop upon the death of his father. Mr. Romenesko was town clerk of Minneiska Township for many years. He drove school buses in this area for over 20 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Royal Neighbors of America. His wife died in 1968. Surviving are a son, Earl of Cottage Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Aloysius (Elsie) Heaser of Weaver, Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Fairchild of South St. Paul and Mrs. Edwin (Helen) Lang of Winona; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One great grandchild and one grandchild also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Buckman funeral home in Wabasha with Reverend Luther Pennington of Weaver United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Minneiska. Friends May call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening and until the time of services Sunday.
