      89, Appleton, passed away peacefully with her loving husband holding her hand on Tues. May 13, 2014 at the American Grand in Kaukauna. She was born Jan. 3, 1925 in Escaudain, France to Joseph and Edwige (Cybal) Nowak. Jeanne married Henry 'Bud' West in Escaudain, France on May 15, 1945 and they would have celebrated their 69th Anniversary today. She was a French war bride and came to the U.S. on June 9, 1946. She became a US Citizen in May of 1978. Her and Bud raised their family in Appleton and were charter members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She also was proud of her twenty plus years as a CNA at Appleton Medical Center. She loved to cook, bake and dance with her grandkids to French polkas.

      She will be greatly missed by her husband, Bud of almost 69 years; daughters: Anne Marie (Roland) Kiesow, Arizona; Donna Kohls, Gillett; Linda Gleason, Appleton; Sharon (Larry) Mueller, Little Chute; sons: Joseph (Natalee) West, Appleton and Michael (Dawn) West, Kimberly; Grandchildren: Brenda (Jay) Joseph, Sara Stamper, Bill Kramer, Tim Kohls, Patrick (Mariah) Kohls, Paula Kohls, Lisa (Carl) Prien, Brad (Jackie) West, Brian (Lisa) Gleason, Katie (fiancé, Josh Lovaas) Gleason, John (Stef) Mueller, Nicole Remmel and Amanda (Nick) Derks; 23 Great Grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild on the way; a brother, Leon Nowak, Lourches, France; sister-in-law, Sophie Nowak, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bob (Betty) West, Arlene Rogers and Norb (Carol) West; nephews: Christian, Andre and Gerard Nowak all of France.

      Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Edwige (Kobot) Nowak; an infant daughter, Shirley; two brothers: Jean an infant and Joseph; a sister, Cecelia Nowak; grandsons: Sgt Nick Mueller and Thomas West; Father and Mother-in-law: Joseph and Catherine West; a son-in-law, Richard Kohls; sisters-in-law: Michlene Nowak, Val Portman, Lola Schneider and Marie West; brothers-in-law: Erv Portman, Thomas Rogers and Gerald Schneider.

      A Mass of Resurrection for Jeanne will be held at 11 AM, Sat. May 17, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family Saturday from 9 AM until the time of Mass directly at church. A memorial fund is being established. The family wishes to thank the staffs of ThedaCare at Home and American Grand for their wonderful care of Jeanne. A very special thank you to Fr. Falk for his countless visits, prayers and blessings through the years.
