Bishop, Donald A.
Donald A. Bishop, of Appleton, age 75, died on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital. He was born in Green Bay to the late Clarence and Emily LouSina (Reynolds) Bishop. On July 7, 1947 he married Jeanette Van Ryzin at St. Therese Catholic Church. They moved to Appleton and raised six children. Don worked at Repap Paper Mill in Kimberly for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed going up north to the campground and going fishing, he also enjoyed hunting and following the Packers. He loved going to his grandchildrens sporting events. Don and his wife fostered 205 babies, starting in 1960 and retiring in 2003.
Don will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette; children: Linda (Lawrence) McCoy of Suamico; Barbara (David) Vallard of Florida; Donald J. (Carol) Bishop of Appleton; Judith (Thomas) Roth of Appleton; Joan (Brian) Schmidt of Appleton; Thomas (Steffanie) Bishop of Silver Cliff, WI; brothers: Charles (Mary) Bishop of Green Bay; Robert Bishop of Suring; sisters: Lois Kennedy of Pulaski; Beverly (Dennis) Raiche of Green Bay; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ken Kennedy.
The Memorial Mass will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive. The visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, especially nurse Debbie K. for her tender loving care and smile, which made Dons stay at the hospital something very special to him.
You taught us joy, family, happiness, strength and fear. Showed us the way, helped us along, guided us through the years. Our hearts feel so empty, so alone, so afraid, without you in our lives, to show and point the way, with every pain, and problem with everything you had you helped us through our lives. We love you, Thank you Dad. From your children, Linda, Barb, Don, Judy, Joan, Tom. Well miss you.
