- Age 97, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Cecelia was born in Kaukauna on September 17, 1906, daughter of the late Balthus and Magdalena (Yingling) Hoffman. In June of 1925, she married Theodore Wittman in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death. Many will remember Cecelia as a great homemaker, cook, and gardener; she was also a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo and watching television. For six years, she lived with her daughter Marlene, and loved spending time with the family dog, Penny.
Cecelia is survived by a daughter: Marlene (Richard) Evers of Appleton; a son: Marvin (Mary Ann) Wittman of Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Jean Wittman, Dan (Betty) Wittman, Kenneth (Ann) Wittman, Patricia (Mark) Fuller, Donald (Kay) Wittman, Troy Evers, and Todd (Shelly) Evers; ten great-grandchildren: Jake Wittman, Micah, Eli, and Tekoa Wittman, Allison, Carolyn, and Matthew Evers, and Maria, Krista, and Peter Fuller; a sister: Helen Taylor of Green Bay, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted Wittman, brothers Simon, Reinhold, Joseph, Matthew, Henry, Michael, and Charlie Hoffman, and a sister Mary Faust.
The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2003 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
