Harvey J. Vandenberg

Age 72, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2000, at the Appleton Medical Center. Harvey was born July 26, 1928 in Combined Locks, son of the late Harry and Mary (West) Vandenberg. On November 17, 1951 he married the former Barbara Hirosky in Appleton. She survives. Harvey was employed for 41 years by Riverside Paper Co. in Appleton and was a member of the quarter century club there. He retired in 1990. He enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending lots of time on the golf course.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Vandenberg of Appleton; two daughters; Brenda (Michael) Thomson of Green Bay and Pam (Randy) Voeks of Seymour; two sons; Dave Vandenberg of Appleton and Rick Vandenberg of Green Bay; five grandchildren; Joette, Shaun and A.J. Thomson, and Dakotah and Cordell Voeks; three brothers; Elmer (Agnes) Vandenberg of Appleton; Floyd (La Vern) Vandenberg of Little Chute; Alvin (Beverly) Vandenberg of Appleton; four sisters; Delores (Earl) Walker of Appleton; Lucille (Charles) Post of Stevens Point; Rita (Al) Laux of Appleton; Agnes (Bernie) Merlin of De Pere; five sisters in-law; Sally Vandenberg of Winchester, Fl.; Florence Vandenberg of Flordia; Freida, Lucy and Kay Vandenberg of Appleton.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Christian Voeks and by six brothers; Arthur, Ambrose, Richard, Paul, Raymond and Henry Vandenberg.
The funeral liturgy for Harvey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wedesday August 16, 2000 at Holy Name Catholic Church, 600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly with Fr. Dennis Bergbaken officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 4 p.m. and again Wednesday at the Church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Visiting hours on Tuesday will conclude with parish prayer and scripture service.
Harvey will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfathe, brother and friend to all who knew him.
