Verhoeven, Lois C. (Koffarnus) Lois C. Verhoeven, age 87, formerly of Appleton, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007, in Pewaukee, WI. Lois was the last surviving child of the twelve born to the late Frank and Regina (Weins) Koffarnus. She was born September 22, 1919, in Appleton and resided in Appleton all of her life until moving to Pewaukee three years ago to be near her daughter. On November 20, 1941, Lois was united in marriage to John Verhoeven. They shared 54 years together before his death on March 8, 1996. Lois was formerly employed as manager of Fanny Farmer Candy and then for many years as a receptionist for Dr. Simenson. While residing in Appleton she was a member of St. Thomas More.
Survivors include two daughters: Cecilia "Cece" (William) Meffert, Charlottesville, VA; Barbara (Steven) Hancock, Pewaukee; a son Martin Verhoeven, Berkeley, CA; a son-in-law Raymond Weyenberg, Kimberly; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her daughter Kathryn Weyenberg and 11 brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 8th at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond St. Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. Memorials to the Hospice of your choice would be appreciated.
