- Marie C. Buzanowski, age 95, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Garden View Assisted Living in the Town of Menasha. On February 10, 1920, Marie was born in Browns Valley, South Dakota to George and Nellie (Vissers) Geurts Sr. When her family moved to Menasha, they resided next door to her future husband. On May 2, 1953, she was united in marriage to Joseph Buzanowski at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1994.
Marie is survived by her sons: Donald Buzanowski and Robert (Sharon) Buzanowski; her granddaughter, April (Ken) Neuman and their children: Ella and Ava, and Ken's sons: Tyler and Chase; a brother, George (Mary Ann) Geurts Jr.; a brother-in-law, Fred Rutten; sisters-in-law: Mary Geurts and Bernice Geurts; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Mark and Florent Geurts; her sisters: Honoret (Dave) Bretthauer, Theresa (Norbert Sr.) Kozlowski, Eileen (Wilbur) Foth, and Ursula Rutten as well as Joe's family members that have gone before her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street in Menasha with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the hour of the Mass at the church. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery in the Town of Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
