    • Peter G. Noyes, age 74, of Fremont, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, September 14, 2012. He was born on January 19, 1938, in Amity, Maine, the son of the late J. Fred and Viola (Byers) Noyes. On April 18, 1981, Peter married Marjorie Lappen in Appleton. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2008. Peter served his country in the US Army, and was a member of Wolf River American Legion Post 391 in Fremont. He worked as a truck driver for Murphy Construction for over thirty years, and also owned and operated Pete's Small Engine Repair shop at his home for many years. Peter was a member of the Republican Party and the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Pete is survived by a son, Fred(Michelle) Noyes, Plymouth, WI; and their children, Marissa, Tyler and Noah; a step-daughter, Mary Hamann, Menasha; and her children, J.T. , Jason, Tiffany, Ryan, and three grandchildren, Charlotte(Rick)Schmoll, Christine(Bill)Schmoll, and Bradley (Shawn)Schmoll; eight great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Debbie and Phyllis Lappen, Appleton; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Pastor Todd Smith will officiate. Military rites will follow the service and inurnment will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 11:00 Am until the time of service.
