    • God broke our hearts on February 18, 2011. He proved to us that he always takes the best first. God called our beautiful Marilyn Helen (Huguet) Dahlke, age 70, home to heaven. God blessed the world on Aug. 2, 1940, when Marilyn was born to Robert and Marie Huguet. She attended St. Philip Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1958. She was the oldest of eight children. Marilyn set an example of unselfish giving and sweetness that her siblings still cling to. Marilyn married Robert Dahlke on June 3, 1961, at St. Philip Church. She was a wonderful mother to their three children, Lisa, David and Leann. Their family worked hard and enjoyed the good times. She especially loved her flowers. She would spend hours looking for "something new" and finding unusual plants. She always managed to keep them alive. She and Bob spent a lot of time cooking and canning but she had to be sure she gave it away to family and friends. Marilyn loved people. She was employed at Bally's, Impire and Home-Town Coordinators. She met many friends through her employment and enjoyed visiting with them. Another love of Marilyn's was her faith and her church. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. They were like precious jewels she held close to her heart. She wouldn't miss a baseball game, basketball game or football game and kept everyone informed about all their activities. She once said "being their grandmother is such a privilege." They loved her and will miss her for forever.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of almost fifty years, Robert Dahlke; her son, David (Joanne); her daughters, Lisa Mc Donald and Leann (Gary) Jahnke. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Kyle Mc Donald and special friend Jess, Kristen Mc Donald, Coltin, Connor and Christopher Dahlke, Matthew and Michael Gilson and Jonah Jahnke. Also surviving her are her siblings, Richard (Shirley) Huguet, Janice Shernak, Thomas (Bonnie) Huguet, Linda (Ken) Peterson, Kathy (Dennis) Nuthals, Julie (Mike) Brunette and Harry (Martha) Huguet. Marilyn is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Dahlke and Mike (Beanie) Dahlke, Adeline (Dale) Corbeille, Mary Ellen (James) Allen and Bertha (Ralph) Hoerchler. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews who respected and enjoyed her so much.

Preceding her in death and waiting for her with open arms are her parents, Robert and Marie Huguet (Hamernik); her step father, Antone Hamernik; her father-in-law, Orrin Dahlke; and her mother-in-law, Agnes Dahlke.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St. until time of mass. It doesn't matter how long we may live. If as long as we live, we unselfishly give. We will never forget Marilyn's unselfish giving.
