    • HILBERT - Mrs. Bertha Pruess, 81, a resident of this community, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of her son, Oscar, here.
      Nee Bertha Broeker, the deceased, was born in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, on April 3, 1863. Her marriage to Rudolph Pruess was performed at New Holstein on Sept. 16, 1884 and immediately following their marriage the couple moved to a farm near Chilton.

      Since the death of her husband on Aug. 13, 1924, she had been making her home with her son, Oscar Pruess, in Hilbert.
      Survivors include, in addition to Oscar, one other son, Edmund, town of Chilton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Emma Broeker, Norfolk, Neb.
      Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Oscar Pruess residence here, and at 2 p.m. at the Ebenezer Reformed church, Chilton. The Rev. E. L. Hennig, pastor, will officiate and interment will be in Chilton's Hillside cemetery.
