- Obit. De Pere Journal Democrat 2-10-1944 Mrs. Henry Kerkhof, age 80, died at her home on Route 3, at 7:15 Thursday morning followin g a long illness. Mrs. Kerkhoff, nee Hannah Kempen, was born December 29, 1863, in the town o f Woodville and lived in that vicinity all her life. She was married to Henry Kerkhof Novembe r 12, 1889, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, by the late Rev. C. DeLouw. She wa s a member of the Altar society of St. Francis church. Survivors are the husband; five daught ers, Sister M. Ignatius and Sister M. Everildis of Zanesville, O., Sister M Theonella of Mani towoc, Sister M. Eileen of Yuma, Ariz. and Sister M. Merilda of West Point , Neb; one son, Wi lliam, route 3; one brother, Henry Kempen in Oregon; eight grandchildren and one great grandc hild. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock from Greenwood funeral home Kauk auna, and 9:30 from St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, with Rev. John G. DeVries offic iating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. She also belonged to the Christian Mothers wh o attended in a body.
