Little Chute
Age 55, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Sunday after a long illness. She was born August 30, 1918 in the Town of Wrightstown. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 258, she was also a past State Legion Auxiliary Sergent of Arms. Mrs. Spierings was instrumentel in organizing the Golden Agers and the Girl Scouts of Little Chute.
Survivors include her husband, Edward; five daughters, Mrs. Eugene P. [Virginia] Janssen, Mrs. Paul [Janice] Vander Heyden, Mrs. Gary [Mary] Weigman, all of Little Chute; Mrs. Robert [Helen] Eiting, Appleton; and Lois at home; two sons, John, Appleton; James, at home; five brothers, Gordon, Kaukauna; Lloyd, Appleton; Emmett and Gerald, both of Little Chute; Dale, Menasha; two sisters, Mrs. Jerome [Mae] Kuepper, Menasha; Mrs. Gerald [Bernice] Bruecker, Hollandtown; 16 grandchildren.
A son Edward and a grandson, Michael preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with Rev. Norbert Vande Loo officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a St. Elizabeth rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service ar 7:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for St. John Grade School Library
