- James Joseph Stumpf, age 51, passed away at Parkside Care Center on Tuesday, November 1, 2011. He was born in Kaukauna on September 7, 1960, the son of Patrick and Phyllis (Summers) Stumpf, and raised on the family farm in Darboy. On September 30, 2003 he married Jackie Austin in Appleton. Jim was proud to serve in the United States Army, including a tour in Panama. In 1991, Jim was accepted into the United States Secret Service, Uniformed Division, and served at the White House. Jim loved home improvement, gardening, golfing, and was an avid Packer fan. He will be remembered for putting others needs before his and his wonderful sense of humor.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jackie; parents: Patrick and Phyllis Stumpf; children: Brett, Tyler, Brandon, Trevor and Brianna Stumpf; step-children: Mike (Missi) Knutson, Jodi Knutson and Ryan Nabbefeld; step-grandchildren: Allyssa and Mackenzie; brothers and sisters: Christie (Ron) Rutten, Sandra (Al) Miller, Kathryn (Phil) Fryman, Fr. Walter Stumpf, Peter (Michelle) Stumpf and Philip (Megan) Stumpf; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace St., Combined Locks, with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Military rites will follow. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Inurnment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Wascher, David Bond, Dr. Kroner, and the staffs at Parkside Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for the Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition.
