- Virginia "Ginny" (Hoefler) Samuels, 80, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2012. She was a resident of the Franciscan Care Center in Hockessin, Delaware. Virginia was born on June 1, 1932, in Little Chute, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (DeBruin) Hoefler and had seven brothers and sisters: Jerome, Wentzel, Werner, Olive, Lucille, Agnes and Edwin. She graduated from St. John High School, Little Chute. Virginia served in the U.S. Navy and was an active member of the American Legion. She was an active member in St. John's/Holy Angels parish in Newark, Delaware where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
Virginia is survived by 2 children: Michael (Donna) Trevor, and their children: Harry Trevor, Virginia Marie and Benjamin Michael; Mary (Fred) Eisele; 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Trevor Samuels.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine Street, Little Chute. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ginny's name can be made to the Franciscan Care Center, 100 Saint Claire Drive, Hockessin, DE 19707.
