Eddie
Little Chute
Age 69, died Friday, September 5, 2003 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 2, 1934 in Little Chute son of Michael and Mary (DeBruin) Hoefler. Edwin Married Theresa Stanchik June 15, 1965 in Oshkosh. Mr. Hoefler was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Eddie was an autobody mechanic for 43 years until his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran who was drafted in 1956 and served through 1958. Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, stock car racing, and Green Bay Packers football. He was noted for his hum strummer playing and was state champion. Eddie is survived by his wife, Theresa; five children: Rick Hoefler, Appleton; Lisa (Nick) Bongean, Menasha; Ed (Amy) Hoefler, Jr., Appleton; Bradley (Tina) Hoefler, Little Chute; and Michael Hoefler, Combined Locks; seven grandchildren: Lance Van Groll, Luke and Jacob Neubauer, April Schindler, Kaitlyn Hoefler, Brandon and Tyler Hoefler, a brother: Wenzel (Dolores) Hoefler, Kaukauna; a sister, Ginny Samuels, Delaware; three brothers-in-law: Donald, Green Bay; Ronald, Menasha; and Ernie Stanchik, Amherst; eight sisters-in-law: Angeline Westphal, Suring; Irene Marquardt, Lake Tomahawk; Frances Weibrecht and Gladys (Dusty) Weibrect both of Green Bay; Elanor (Martin) Firkus, Plover; Jean Topel, Green Bay; Barbara Kohlbach and Linda (Pat) Gladowski both of Amherst; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Hoefler, nine brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Msgr. James VandenHogen officiating. Military rites will be conducted following the mass by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute. Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Edwin's family wishes to thank Dr. Brian Avery and staff for their loving care and concern and those who assisted our family, especially Russ Schinke.
We'll miss you, Dad, and we'll take care of Toby for you. Love, your family.
