    • Bernard Hoffman, 53, 509 S Elm St, edied at 4:07 Thursday morning after a short illness. Mr. Hoffman's mother, Mrs. Mary Hoffman, died just a week ago.

      Born in Menominee Falls, Mr. Hoffman moved to Mackville at the age of nine years; twenty years ago, he moved to Appleton.

      He had been a millwright at the Interlake Pulp and paper company ever since moving to Appleton.

      He was a member of St Joseph church, Holy Name society, St Joseph society, Eagles Lodge, the Employers' Benefit association of the Interlake, and Local #81, Brotherhood of International Sulphite Workers.

      Survivors are the widow; one son, Robert, Prairie du Chien; one brother, phillip, Mackville; four sisters, Sister M. Servatia, Manitowoc; Mrs. Joseph Fischer, Mackville; Mrs. Henry Ulman, Greenville; and Mrs. John Schmidt, town of Menasha.

      Funeral services will be held at 6:30 Saturday morning at Wichmann Funeral home, and at 9 o'clock at St Joseph church.

      Burial will be in St Joseph cemetery.

      St Joseph society will hold a prayer service at 7:30 Thursday evenings and the Holy Name society at 8 oclock Friday evening.

      The body will be at the funeral home this afternoon until the time of service.
