      Carnot, Paul A.

Paul Carnot, Kaukauna, age 80, was born to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 16, 2010. He was born on July 20, 1929, in Kaukauna to the late William and Edith (Meyer) Carnot. Paul died at home in the loving arms of his wife and best friend, Mary Ann (nee Siebers) Carnot. He is further survived by his loving children and grandchildren: Dale (Jeanne) Carnot of Germany and their children: Kelly (Matt) Gomez, Jackie (Owen) Wallace, and Paul Carnot; Chris (Frank) Bouressa of Kaukauna and their children: Tony (Emma) Bouressa, Molly, Lucy, Becky, and Donny Bouressa; Cathy (Monroe) Bond of Columbus, Ohio and their children: Sarah and Daniel Bond; Alan (Chris) Carnot of Hendersonville, North Carolina and their children: Michael and Tom Carnot; Mary Jo Carnot and her daughter, Amanda Kolen; Lisa (Dave) Salter of Wauwatosa and their children: Maureen, Shannon and Patrick Salter; Leslie (Dan) Petrie of Newburgh, Indiana and their children: Anna and Robert Petrie.

Paul is also survived by two great-grandsons, Jackson Bouressa and Sean Gomez. In addition, he is survived by his three sisters: Alice Diestler of Hortonville, Joanne Franz of Harrison, and Naomi Carnot of New Berlin; four sisters-in-law: Germaine (Wayne) Shillcox of Appleton, Ruth Bewick of Little Chute, Pat Siebers of Brookfield, and Janet Janssen of Appleton; two brothers-in-law: Mark Siebers of Jersey City, New Jersey and his special friend Bill Campbell, and Roger Siebers of Glen Burnie, Maryland. Paul is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother David (Dorothy) Carnot, seven brothers-in-law: Robert Franz, Gerald Diestler, George "Red" (Alvina) Siebers, Paul Siebers, Robert Siebers, Fr. Glen Siebers, O. Praem., and Orville Siebers; a nephew Tom Carnot; and niece: Michele "Mickey" Stamm.

On June 27, 1957, Paul was married to Mary Ann Siebers, sharing 52 years together before his death. Paul graduated from Kaukauna High School with the Class of 1947 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a member of the Signal Corps, and was a member of the Jacob Coppus Post #258 of the American Legion. He worked at The Kaukauna Times, retiring after working for over fifty years. Over the years, Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening, cracking hickory nuts, attending sporting events of his family, and in his later years — golf. He even shot a hole-in-one at Hickory Hills! Prayer and church remained very important to Paul; he was a life long member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna where he had served as a Trustee.

The Christian Funeral for Paul will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street, Kaukauna. Rev Mark Luetzow will be officiating. Full military honors will follow the worship service at the church. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kaukauna. The visitation will take place on Friday at the Fargo Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Trinity Ev. Lutheran School, in honor of Paul's mother, who was a teacher at the school.

Special thanks is expressed to Dr. Alan Cherkasky and his staff for the very special care they gave Paul, to Bev and hospice, to Dr. McNutt of the VA, Dr. Mark Lenz, Dr. Buddi, Dr. Lauderdale, Dr. Schneekloth, Linda Onson, and all of the friends and neighbors who have prayed for and visited with Paul.

Paul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather whose family meant the world to him. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
