      Age 92, died Tuesday morning, August 5, 2003, at her home. She was born January 16, 1911 to the late George and Petronella (Garlead) Driessen, in Holland. Joan moved to the United States with her family in 1925. On December 2, 1939, she married Orville E. Liesch. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Rita Liesch, Alabama; Ralph Liesch, Appleton; two grandsons, Matthew Liesch, Fenton, MO; Erik Liesch, Granite City, IL; a brother, Peter (Kittie) Driessen, California; a sister, Helen Driessen, Appleton; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Driessen and Katherine Driessen, both of Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding Joan in death is her husband, Orville E. Liesch, five brothers, George Driessen, Jr., John Driessen, Ted Driessen, Arnold Driessen and Joseph Driessen and a sister, Marion Casper. Funeral services for Joan will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 8, 2003, at the funeral home, with Jordan Kuczwara, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home, from 4-8 pm, Thursday and on Friday from 9:00 am, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Joan’s name to the Salvation Army or the Humane Society.
