    • VERNA WEST MADER, born Dec. 15, 1921 and died April 12, 1979. Verna
      married Hank Milder Sept. 14, 1946 , and they had Christine, Donna,
      Mary, Debra, Pamela, Carol, David, Nancy and Michelle. She attended
      St. Johns High School where she won many honors. In World War II,
      she was in the service, while attending nurses traing, the war ended
      before she completed her training. She was very close to her Godmother
      Minnie Vosbeek.

      Mrs. Henry A. Mader [Verna C. West] age 57, died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday after a lengthy illness. She was born December 15, 1926 in Appleton where she was a resident all of her life. Mrs. Mader was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Therese.

      Survivors include her husband, eight daughters; Mrs. Henry [Christine] Bittner, Richfield, Wisconsin; Mrs. Thomas [Donna] Heinzen, Rock City, Illinois; Mrs. James [Mary] Grajkowski, Waupaca; Mrs. David [Debra] Morin, Pamela, Carol, Nancy and Michelle, and a son, David, all of Appleton; six brothers; Albert C, Ottawa, Illinois; James T., Dearborn, Michigan; Leo B., Miami, Florida; David T., Sussex, Wisconsin; Ralph T., Appleton; and Theodore V. West, Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters; Mrsl Earl [Virginia] Ashman and Mrs. Richard [Marie] Malchow, both of Appleton; and Mrs. Leona K. Mullen, Shiocton; and eight grandchildren.

      The complete funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Therese Catholic Church, with the Rev. Karl Buresh officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday until the cortege leaves for the church. The prayer and scripture service will be at 7:30 Thursday evening. A memorial fund is being established.
