- ALBERT CORNELIOUS, born July 23, 1917. He attended St. Marys grade
school, and for two years St, Johns High School in Little Chute, he
finished at Appleton High School. In 1933 he hitch-hiked as far
West as Wyo. and Colo. He worked for Weyenberg Dairy until 1936,
when he went to Calif. On his return he started to work at Sears.
In 1938 he worked for Sears in Salt Lake and then in Provo Utah.
He had gone to Utah because of the better skiing. He returned to
Wis in 1939 and worked at Sears in Oshkosh. He married a Salt Lake
girl in 1940, and they had a son in 1941 named Thomas. He entered
the U.S.Airforce in 1942. He became a navigator, and flew in B 25s
in the S.W. Pacific. He was shot down on Formosa and spent some
time in a life raft, only 25 days after leaving the States. While
over-sea he earned a Distiguished Flying Cross, a Purple Heart and
an Air Medal. After leaving the Air Force he returned to Sears, and
had a variety of assingments in sveral States. He married Sid L.
Landrum in 1946 and they had Stephen, Sandra, Patrie a and Albert
Michael who diad in 1984. He retired from Sears in 1980, the last
15 years as a Store Manager in several stores. They now live in
Ottawa, II.
