| Photos | ![]() | Mary "Vonnie" Seegers | Age 87 | Combined Locks, WI Mary Yvonne “Vonnie” Seegers (née Van Den Broek), age 87, of Combined Locks, passed away on September 8, 2025, just two days after what would have been her 67th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband Ralph, who passed away on July 25, 2025. Vonnie was born on July 12, 1938, in Appleton and graduated from Kimberly High School. She married Ralph Seegers on September 6, 1958, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Kimberly. Together they built a life raising their family and spent over six decades in the same home in Combined Locks. Vonnie worked for many years at Fox Valley Technical College and at Miller Electric. She was also the heart of her household, a fiercely loyal wife, mom, and grandma who somehow kept her home spotless while also being the life of the party. If you stopped by for a visit, she would likely be busy doing laundry, washing windows, vacuuming, dusting, or raking her carpets, all while making you laugh. She especially loved spending time with her family at their cottage on Saint John’s Lake in Forest County. Vonnie and Ralph were true fixtures at JD’s Drive-In, a local favorite where they shared countless meals. After dinner, they would go on their nightly “patrols” through Kimberly and Combined Locks. Vonnie was known for her quick wit, her endless energy, and her ability to turn any moment into a good time. Whether it was a family gathering, a holiday, or just a random Tuesday, Vonnie showed up with a smile and made it fun. She is survived by her three daughters, Vicky (Doug Haen) Keel, Kelly (Mike) Mueller, and Nikki (Lonnie) Nienhaus. She was proud grandmother to Ryan (Alyssa) Keel, Alex Keel, Brianna Mueller, Aaron (Alyssa) Mueller, Cody (Michael Bishop) Gracyalny, Cole Gracyalny, and Jadyn Nienhaus. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandsons, Parker, Nash, and Brooks Keel. She is also survived by her great-grandpups, Willow and Oscar. Vonnie is further survived by her brother Marvin (Mazie) Van Den Broek, and her in-laws Dalton (Lola) Seegers and Dennis (Carol) Seegers. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents Martin and Mary “Mable” (Bergman) Van Den Broek, and her in-laws John and Regina (Becher) Seegers. Vonnie will be remembered for her sense of humor, her devotion to her family, her spotless house, and the sparkle in her eye that always signaled something fun was about to happen. Her family takes comfort knowing she and Ralph are together again, probably out on a patrol! The memorial service for Vonnie will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Verkuilen Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. |
