    • Antoinette (Toni) Van Handel, Kimberly. age 92, passed away peacefully at Heartwood Home, following a brief illness, on May 7, 2014. She was born April 29, 1922, daughter of the late Cornelius and Anna (Vergowen) Hermus. On June 22, 1944 she was united in marriage to Clarence P. Van Handel at St. Joseph's Church in Oneida. They were blessed with 49 years together before Clarence preceded her in death on August 7, 1993. Antoinette was a member of St. John's in Little Chute. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, traveling and the time at their cottage at Kelly Lake where the family gathered and laughter was shared and happy memories remain.

      Survivors include her children: Carolyn (Carl) Henn, Jim (Peg) Van Handel, Phyllis (fiancé Al Lanser) Van Groll, Pete (Janet) Van Handel, Greg (Nancy) Van Handel, special daughter-in-law, Diane (Van Handel) Van Groll; grandchildren: Tim (Nancy) Henn, Lisa (Tim) Roberts, Lynn (Bruce) Brinkman, Lori (Bob) Garrett, Tracy (Wayne) Van Groll, Kerry (Winston) Henry, Holly (Wes) Pohlman, Michelle (Brad) Krueger, Chris (Kasey) Van Groll, Michael (Indira) Van Handel, Christy Van Handel, Dave Van Handel, Stacie Van Handel, and Gary Van Handel. She also has 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose (Harold) Hendricks, sister-in-law, Evelyn Hermus and brother-in-law, Ed Klarner.

      She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Michael and William (Bill) Van Handel, great-grandchild, Malik Henry, brothers: John (Tilly) Hermus, Adrian Hermus, Jimmy Hermus and Antone (Jean) Hermus; sisters: Nellie (Sam) Weller, Jane Hermus, Cora (George) Van Cuyk, Anna (Willard) Vanden Heuvel, Mary (Norbert) Vanden Heuvel, Betty Klarner, Theresa (Joseph) Linsmeyer and Josephine Hermus; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary (Frank) Helein, Ted (Angeline) Van Handel, Art (Dorothy) Van Handel, Harriet (Lester) Haberland and Norbert (Helen) Van Handel.

      Mass of Christian Burial for Antoinette will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute with Fr. Ronald Belitz and Msgr. James Vanden Hogen concelebrating. Friends will be received on Saturday directly at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
