    • Lucille A. (Klarkowski) Craanen, 92, New Franken, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017. She was born on September 20, 1925, in Eaton to the late Antone and Bernice (Mencheski) Klarkowski. On October 28, 1950, Lucille married Herbert Craanen at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, together they shared 67 years of marriage. In her earlier years, Lucille worked for Kraft Cheese Company and later for Pauly Cheese in Green Bay, where she formed many lasting friendships. She would often talk about the friends she made and the good times she shared with them. After marriage Lucille worked hard on the farm with Herbert until their retirement. She was a devoted Catholic, praying the rosary with Herbert every morning.

Together Lucille and Herbert enjoyed bowling, dancing, polka music and playing cards, especially Sheepshead. She was a sweet lady who always welcomed people into their home with a smile. Lucille also enjoyed baking, especially bread and cookies, and shared these goodies with friends, family and even salesmen who came to the door. She loved gardening, canning fruits and vegetables and sharing her fruits of labor with others. Lucille will always be remembered as a kind-hearted lady with a big smile and an infectious laugh who lived, loved and enjoyed life.

Lucille will be deeply missed by her husband, Herbert; two sisters, Eleanore Balza and Delores Mleziva; many nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Clayton Craanen; and many other family, friends and neighbors.
